Frame cottage, two stories, with generally rectangular footprint and cross-gabled roof. Foundation concealed by square lattice skirting; cove (first floor) and shingle (second floor) siding; asphalt shingle roof. Full-width, two-story porch wraps left (northeast) corner, with projecting polygonal one-story corner pavilion; upper and lower porches have turned posts, solid-sided rail, and plain frieze band. Closed front and side gables with fishscale and square shingles. First-floor porch shelters single door, at center, one-over-one double-hung window at either side. Screens obscure additional first floor and second floor openings. Decorative diamond-shaped shingle pattern at left side flanking second-floor window. Small entry porch at rear left. Bay window on right side. Side windows generally one-over-one double-hung wood sash.

History: This was one of the Rochester Cottages, a group of cottages on Star Avenue and Coast Avenue West used as boarding houses in the early twentieth century.
