Frame cottage, nearly two full stories, irregular cruciform footprint and cross-gable roof. Foundation concealed by flat-sawn decorative skirting at front, square lattice skirting at rear; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. Two-story front porch; first-floor porch full-width, second floor partial width (beneath gable only). Porches have paired turned posts, flared solid shingle-sided rail, screened, plain frieze band at first floor, molded frieze at second floor. Gable with elaborate pierced panels, pierced brackets, flat-sawn trim, decorative rafters, vertical board siding behind decorative elements. First-floor porch shelters single entry door, at left (southwest), and three two-over-two double hung windows at right. Second-floor porch shelters single entry door, at center. Continuous flat-sawn scalloped trim at roofline. Left (south) cross-gable wing, one wide bay wide by one bay deep, with decorative truss, pierced panels, and decorative rafters at gable. Right (north) cross-gable wing, one narrow bay wide by one bay deep, has band of flat-sawn trim below second-floor windows, and elaborate pierced panels in gable that coordinate with those at front gable, including flat-sawn trim and scrolled brackets. Windows generally two-over-two double-hung wood sash. Rear front-gabled addition with shed extension. Porches sensitively rehabilitated between 1980 and 1998: enclosure removed, appropriate columns either uncovered or installed.
