Description & Additional Information

Three-story cottage with unusual blocky form, labeled as an ice house on historic maps. Foundation concealed behind square grid lattice; clapboard and shingle siding; low-pitched, asphalt shingle roof. First-floor front has a bank of two broad two-over-one windows and one door; the rightmost window and door are sheltered by a partial-width, wraparound front porch. Three two-over-one windows at second-floor front. Third floor resembles a tower, two bays by one bay, slightly wider than the base on which it sits; it has a hipped roof, part of which rises to a flared tower with finial. Side windows vary in type and configuration. The unusual form of this cottage, unlike any other in the park, is explained by its original use as an ice house; the date of conversion is unknown.
