Description & Additional Information


One-story Neoclassical library with rectangular footprint and side-gabled roof. Limestone foundation; wood clapboard siding; asphalt shingle roof. Formal, symmetrical three-bay facade with broad steps leading to pedimented entry porch, with paired fluted columns to either side, entablature with sign reading “Thousand Island Park Library,” and pediment with dentil trim and low-relief circle and garland ornament. Porch shelters paired front doors framed by paneled pilasters, sidelights, and transom. Right and left of porch are triple casement windows with cross and X pattern muntins creating triangular lights, beneath molded hood with central pediment. Similar, taller windows at east and west ends; rear of building has two similar windows with a stone chimney at center. Diminutive one-story rear addition with gable roof provides a rear entrance.
