Frame cottage, nearly two full stories, with gable-and-wing configuration and cross-gabled roof; oriented to the water (southwest) with rear facing the road (northeast). Foundation concealed by square lattice skirting; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. Two-story, full-width front porch. First-floor porch wraps left (northwest) corner and extends past side walls of cottage, with turned posts, flared solid shingle-sided rail, flattened arch spandrels, pierced-panel frieze band; with screens and unobtrusive glass windows. Second-floor porch spans front-gabled section only, with chamfered posts and geometric rail. Gable with delicate pierced and carved vergeboard in sinuous S shape, decorative truss, pendant, pinnacle, and exposed rafter tails. Screen conceals openings at first-floor porch. Second-floor porch shelters two single doors, at center, and one-over-one window, at left (northwest). Northwest wing, one bay by one bay, with decorative window surrounds steeply pitched roof with incised vergeboard. Side windows include one-over-one and two-over-two double-hung wood windows. Rear gable has vergeboard matching that of front gable. One-story gable-on-hip addition that extends one bay to the right, next to a lower shed-roofed rear addition.
