Frame cottage, two stories, with rectangular footprint and cross-gabled roof. Foundation concealed by vertical board skirting; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. Two-story porch; first-floor porch wraps left (northeast) side; second-floor porch beneath steeply pitched, flared hipped roof creating appearance of a tower. First-floor porch has turned posts, widely spaced turned balusters, and plain frieze band. Second-floor porch has chamfered posts, turned balusters, and arched spandrels with vertical cove siding. Wide fascia along length of first and second story rooflines. First floor-porch shelters single entry door, at left, with three 4/4 double-hung windows to the right and two 4/4 windows and secondary entry door at left side, facing onto wraparound portion of porch. Rear portion of porch enclosed with solid-sided rail and banks of casement windows. Rear entry porch. Windows generally 4/4 double-hung and appear to be replacements. Addition at rear, dormer expansion, and window replacements since 1980, compatible.

History: The 1980 survey provided a date of 1875-1880 for this cottage. Sanborn maps show a significant change in configuration between 1905 and 1914, possibly complete replacement of the cottage. Significant rehabilitation in 2007 included addition of second floor tower-like porch (Diana Grater, architect).
