Description & Additional Information


Frame cottage, two stories, with rectangular footprint and front-gabled roof, oriented facing the Tabernacle to the southeast. Foundation concealed by vertical board skirting; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. Two-bay facade with two-story, full-width front porch on southeast side. First-floor porch has turned posts, turned balusters, slender flattened arch spandrels, pierced-panel frieze. Second-floor porch has square posts, double-band rail with geometric stickwork over pierced-panel rail; screened. Gable features sawtooth trim, diagonal cross frieze band, grid of dot-pattern pierced panels, decorative rafter tails. First-floor porch shelters single door, at center, two-light window, at right, one-over-one window at cutaway corner, at left. Second-floor porch shelters two doors, off center. Two-story cross-gabled wing at right (north) side. Decorative rafter tails continuous at eaves. Side windows generally one-over-one double-hung wood windows. Two-story porch at rear ,comparably elaborate to the front porch; First-floor porch partial-width with chamfered posts, turned balusters, flattened arch spandrels, pierced-panel frieze, screened. Second-floor porch full-width, with chamfered posts, double-band rail with geometric stickwork over pierced panels, screened. Rear gable features sawtooth trim, diagonal cross frieze, sunburst decoration, pierced panels. Screen conceals porch openings. The two-story rear porch and two-story side wing are twenty-first-century additions; rear porch replaced an earlier shed-roofed rear wing circa 2010 with details closely matching decorative details of front porch.
