Description & Additional Information

Frame cottage, two stories, with irregular rectangular footprint and side-gabled roof. Original one-story cottage with gable roof, at left (west), built in 1968, nearly doubled in width by addition of a two-story wing with low-pitched saltbox roof, at right (east) side, after 1980; wood shingles also added after 1980 replacing original “4×8 wooden sheets” noted in 1980 survey. Foundation concealed by diamond lattice skirting; shingle siding; asphalt shingle roof. Full-width front deck, extending across entire original cottage and part of added wing, with solid-sided shingle rail. Deck provides access to single door, at right side of original cottage, left of which are two sliding windows; secondary sliding door at front of side addition also opens onto deck. Bay window with paired sliding windows to right (east) of deck. Side windows generally one-over-one double-hung wood windows. Shed-roofed attached garage at rear of saltbox section. This is one of a handful of cottages occupied year-round in Thousand Island Park. Noncontributing due to age.
