Frame cottage, two stories plus attic, with generally rectangular footprint and cross-gabled roof. Foundation concealed by diamond lattice skirting; clapboard siding; asphalt shingle roof. Three-story, full-width porch; first-floor porch wraps left (southwest) corner; third floor integral porch set within gable. First and second-floor porches have turned posts; double band rail, spindles over pierced panels; brackets; spindlework frieze. Third floor porch has matching double band rail, spindles over pierced panels, arched brackets. Gable with shingle siding, trefoil-like emblem at peak, raking cornice and architrave at eaves. First-floor porch shelters single front door, at right, with paired one-over-one windows and cutaway corner with one-over-one window, at left; porch also shelters two one-over-one windows and single door on left (south) side. Second-floor porch shelters one-over-one window, at center, single door at either side; single door at third floor porch. First-floor porch projects south of south wall, with decorative fan at side gable of porch roof. Cross-gable wing on south side, one narrow bay wide by two bays deep, with shingles and paired one-over-one windows in gable. Shed dormer at right. Two-story rear wing with low-pitched roof, from which two one-story shed-roofed additions project.

History: This was one of the “Rochester Cottages,” a group of cottages used as boarding houses in the early twentieth century.
