Charles D. Wilsey, architect. Three-story hotel with L-shaped footprint and broad hipped roof. Foundation concealed by decorative skirting; wood clapboard and cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. Deep two-story porch on south side, wrapping east side as a one-story porch, with round Tuscan columns, wood rail with square balusters; second-floor balustrade continues along east side to create a deck, with shaped posts with finials in place of columns. Porch shelters three storefronts on south side, otherwise regularly spaced doors and windows; windows have decorative upper sash and operable transoms. Second-floor porch also shelters regularly spaced doors and windows. Third-floor windows in two sizes, eight-over-one and four-over-one; scroll brackets at eaves above larger windows only, and at corners. Two gable-roofed dormers on south side and one on north side. Rear of building is more utilitarian, with shed-roofed additions on north and west sides, and similar windows in two sizes at second and third floors. At west end of hotel building, facing Rainbow Street, is a two-story attached commercial building with a first-floor storefront sheltered by an awning, two eight-over-one wood windows at second-floor front, shed roof, and one-story gable-roofed rear wing.
