Description & Additional Information

Frame cottage, two stories, with rectangular footprint and front-gabled roof. Wood pier on concrete footing; foundation concealed at front by square lattice skirting; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. Two-story, full-width front porch. First-floor porch has turned posts, square balusters, and paneled frieze band. Second-floor porch has turned posts, flared solid shingle-sided rail, and plain frieze band. First-floor porch shelters single entry door, at right (northeast), and four tall, narrow two-over-two windows, at left. Second-floor porch shelters single door, at center, one four-over-four window at left. Cove siding and vent in gable. Exposed rafters at eaves. Side windows generally two-over-two double-hung wood sash. Shed-roofed rear extension.

History: Appears on 1905, 1914, and 1924 Sanborn maps with an entirely different, cruciform configuration. Information from the owner is that the cottage was built in 1910; if this date is correct the maps after 1914 must be inaccurate.
