Description & Additional Information

Frame cottage, two stories plus broad attic, with rectangular footprint and broad front-gambrel roofline. Symmetrical facade. Foundation concealed by vertical board siding; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. One-story full-width front porch, with square posts, diagonal cross railing; plain frieze band, and flat roof; screened. Porch shelters paired two-over-two window, at center, single door to either side, and two-over-two window on far side. Two simulated nested gables at second-floor front, one to either side, each with one two-over-two wood window; paired two-over-two wood windows between the two gables, and two two-over-two windows above, at attic. Decorative rafter rails at eaves. Side windows generally two-over-two double-hung wood windows, single and in pairs. Shed-roof enclosed porch addition at rear.

History: The 1980 survey indicated this cottage was originally two identical cottages that were moved to this site and joined together at the gables by the Cobb family ca. 1914. The façade does feature two separate gable-roofed forms, each of which resembles a traditional campground cottage.
