Description & Additional Information

Frame cottage, 1 ½ stories, with irregular cruciform footprint and cross-gabled roof. Cottage is situated on a hill on Prospect Point, its front porch oriented to the southwest facing the river. Foundation concealed by shingle skirting; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. One-story full-width front porch with chamfered posts, flared solid-sided rail, plain frieze band; screened. Screen conceals porch openings. Porch wraps around both sides to terminate at the front of the one-bay by one-bay cross-gable wings. Two one-over-one windows in front gable, which is situated over the porch and was likely a second-floor open porch; Sanborn maps show it was enclosed by 1905. Side gable decoration matches front gable. One gabled wall dormer at front of each side wing, with vertical siding in gables. Two additional wall dormers and two shed-roofed additions at southeast side of rear wing; one shed-roofed addition at northwest side of rear wing.
