Foundation concealed by shingle skirting; cove siding; asphalt shingle roof. One-story front porch spans front of original cottage, with battered posts, solid shingle-sided rail, flattened arch spandrels overlaid on plain frieze band; screened. Screen conceals porch openings. Large stone and concrete chimney at right side. Triangular brackets at side gables. Side windows include one-over-one double-hung wood windows, fixed, decorative, and sliding wood windows.

History: Per the 1980 survey, this cottage is believed to have been built as a temporary school circa 1912 and appears to have stood on Lot 340, kitty-corner to the present lot. It was moved about 100 feet to its current site in 1946 by Jay Gardner, former Postmaster of TIP. Kitchen, fireplace and porch added ca. 1946; bedroom addition ca. 1955-60.
